8th Grade Parent Night is on January 30th starting at 6:30pm.
Parent presentation will be in the DHS Theater.
8th grade student presentation and tours will start in the Chorus and Band rooms. (DHS students and teachers will be escorting students from the theater to these rooms.)
Parents and students will be able to meet back up after the presentations in the Joe Marelle Gym where tables will be set up with information about electives and extracurricular activities available to students.

Congratulations to Duluth High School for recognition by Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta's top 50 public high schools . Based on nine indicators of college preparedness, Duluth High School ranked 35th among public high schools.
He was part of the magazine's 14th annual "50 Directors who Make a Difference". The purpose of the article is to "shed light on some of the common values and philosophies held by a representative sampling of exceptional music educators"!
The magazine selected one music teacher from each state, and you can see from the link below how well Peter represented not only the state of Georgia but music educators as well! Chevy Drive for Perfection Information

The students in the DHS Class of 2012 have a unique opportunity this year.
Rick Hendrick Chevrolet has agreed to sponsor our students in the Chevy Drive for Perfection program.
Any senior who achieves 98% attendance (with NO unexcused absences) has the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a new car! This equates to only allowing 3 excused absences for the school year. Students who qualify will be sent an invitation to an end-of year celebration on Saturday, May 5th. This celebration will include students from all over the Atlanta metro area.
Students who attend will have the opportunity to win many great prizes, including a new Chevy Sonic or Chevy Cruze. Students must be present to win any prizes. All students classified as seniors are eligible for this.

Online Math Tutorials - Free and Continuous Access

As of now, we are able to provide all of our students with free and continuous access to all online math tutorials . Tutorials are geared towards Integrated Algebra I and Integrated Geometry.
As part of the Universal Breakfast Pilot Program for SY 12, students now have the opportunity to enjoy a reimbursable breakfast at no charge.
Each student is eligible for one reimbursable breakfast each day. A breakfast meal includes one breakfast entree, one juice or fruit, and/or milk. Ala carte and supplemental items will be sold at the usual price.
The School Nutrition staff looks forward to serving you a nutritious breakfast to jump start your day!
