Congratulations to our own Dr. Peter Lemonds who was featured in the December issue of School Band and Orchestra Magazine!!

He was part of the magazine's 14th annual "50 Directors who Make a Difference". The purpose of the article is to "shed light on some of the common values and philosophies held by a representative sampling of exceptional music educators"!

The magazine selected one music teacher from each state, and you can see from the link below how well Peter represented not only the state of Georgia but music educators as well! This honor highlights Peter's passion for teaching music to young people and DHS is honored to have such a great teacher. See link below for the full article.

Cyberbullying Prevention for Parents

Bullying is widespread and perhaps the most under reported safety problem on American school campuses. Contrary to popular belief, bullying occurs more often at school and in the victim’s digital environment. Once thought of as simply a rite of passage or relatively harmless behavior that helps build young people's character, bullying is now known to have long-lasting harmful effects, for both the victim and the bully. A complete list of helpful resources are available here.
